At
some point, computers become self-conscious, and make every decision. In order
for us to make a small reduction to our new computer landlords, we need
computer repair technicians to keep them working.
Computer
repair technicians evaluate, repair and maintain computers for companies and
individuals. They can work directly for a large company, at repair shops, or
for computer repair companies that travel to a customer's location. Computer
repair technicians use tools and technology to keep computers at optimum
operating levels, and to repair computers, processors, hard drives and
monitors. They use special tools to diagnose issues, make suggestions for
repairs or replacements for customers and to test any new components installed.
HOW
ARE TECHNOLOGIES ABOUT A COMPUTER?
According
to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), in 2010 the average hourly income for
computer repair technology was $ 17.92, or $ 37,280 per year.
WHAT
ARE EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS?
You
can start with a high school certificate, demonstrating technical ability with
computers. Many computer repair technologies get some form of associate or
technical degree in computer repair. Once hired, techs may receive training on
specific computer systems used by the company or specialized search engines for
sophisticated computer systems. Continuing education is encouraged as computer
technology changes rapidly.
