To compare wage apples and apples across states, we also looked at the cost of living in each state.
We
then created an index by dividing the average wage for a state by the cost of
living compared to the average. For example, the cost of living index in
California is 135.9 and the average wage is $ 56610, so our index value would
be:

We
then ranked each state according to these criteria with the state with the
highest salary index as the highest average wage for cable technicians.
