to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), security guards and sports
watchdogs should see job growth of 3% over the decade 2019-2029 (www.bls.gov).
BLS also reported that these professionals have earned an average salary of $
31,050 as of May 2020.

states require security guards to obtain a license by completing a training
program and submitting a background check. These armed guards must obtain
additional licenses. Security guards can also choose to obtain a national
certificate from ASIS International.
