To date, however, no specific certification has been found
in the United States for testing health workers at the point of care. This new
program, created and managed by the AACC Certification Board, will record that
qualified health professionals working at the service have proven experience
and are among the best in the region.
A health expert who provides the certification is called a
Point of Care Testing (CPP) Professional. CPPs are proven to be viable in
point-of-care tests. This means that the qualified expert has demonstrated
knowledge of US regulations on point of care and compliance, quality
management, education and training, selection and validation / certification of
devices, connectivity and information technology, leadership and communications
, sample types, policies and procedures, clinical applications and technology
and procedure.
"We are excited to launch this new certification for
point-of-care testing specialists," said Janet B. Kreizman, CEO of AACC.
"We learned from our members that this certification was much needed. As
point-of-care tests become more commonplace, it is imperative to ensure that
those who conduct these tests are qualified experts. health care certified as
CPP they will stand out as proven authorities in point-of-care tests. "
